On March 9, 2026, our hearts were broken as we unexpectedly lost Elizabeth Ann Dodd. Lizzy was more than a participant in our programs at Carmel Gateway—she was a bright, joyful light whose presence could warm even the hardest days.

Affectionately known as Lizzy, she attended the Gateway Day Program for several years, becoming a cherished part of our Gateway family. Her kindness radiated effortlessly, touching every person she met. Whether she was offering help to her peers, encouraging staff with her sweet spirit, or breaking into dance and song as only she could, Lizzy brought joy everywhere she went. Her laughter was contagious, her compassion was genuine, and her spirit was truly infectious.

Lizzy was our sunshine. She embodied love, warmth, and positivity in a way that is rare and deeply beautiful. She reminded us daily of why we do the work we do at Gateway Residential—because every life is meaningful, every spirit is unique, and every person deserves to shine.

Her legacy will forever be a part of us and will continue to reflect the very heart of our agency. Lizzy will always be remembered for her love, her light, and the joy she so freely shared with her community.

She will be forever missed. She will be forever loved. And she will forever remain a part of who we are.
